The Great Trade & Tax Balancing Act

Speaker: Yoko Yamamoto, CDH, PC

Program Chair: Jennifer Watson, ITCC Board Member

Overview:  This seminar is intended to provide the attendee with an understanding of how to manage compliance concerns that arise from international sales between related parties.  It is understood that companies are expected to abide by certain rules for reporting the value of goods that are sold between related parties across international borders.  However, those rules are administered by the IRS and Customs & Border Protection in different ways, and compliance with one agency does not automatically presume compliance with the other.  This conflict has been the source of much confusion and many compliance officers’ headaches.  Our speaker will attempt to demystify the process for preparing transfer pricing systems that survive scrutiny by both agencies, and will share case studies of what has worked and what has not.

Time: Registration will open at 5:30pm, with the seminar beginning at 6:00pm.

Location: Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, DePaul University, 1 E. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60604: Room 5800
