Attention all Importers. Choosing a competent customs broker and establishing an effective working relationship with the broker are prerequisites for customs compliance. This program will present two very experienced brokers to discuss best practices, the broker’s view of the relationship and the behind the scenes work which brokers perform on a day to day basis which is not always visible to importers. An in-house Senior Trade Compliance Manager (also a licensed broker) will present the importer’s perspective.

  • Understanding the roles and responsibilities of the broker and importer.
  • Broker/Importer Communication.
  • Designing and implementing written procedures.
  • Factors that should be taken into account in choosing a broker.
  • Data and reports that can be provided by your broker.
  • Recordkeeping.
  • Post-entry review.
  • Additional services provided by brokers.
  • The day to day operations of brokers.

The International Trade Club of Chicago (ITCC) is a not-for-profit organization and all proceeds are used solely to cover the costs of ITCC activities. The ITCC appreciates the efforts of the volunteer speakers.
